These checks need to be coming in ASAP to assure your place in our very large event.

The Simmons Center in Duncan is the most beautiful place to have our book festival, very accommodating. There will be two authors to a table unless otherwise requested that more be at the 8-foot table. These tables will be black skirted; the top decoration is your choice, whatever you choose to promote your books. You may use easels but they must be behind your table.

This will be put on the Duncan web site for the people to see this information. It will also benefit you in the future with book sales after the event is over.

shookum@pldi.net If you have author friends looking for an opportunity to sell books and to network with aprox. 70 or more authors, this is the place to come. They need to contact me for reservations and then send to Kent and Mary Beth the money and the bios/jpgs.

We will have an informal Authors/Sponsor Reception on Oct. 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Hampton Inn Hotel. This is for authors no matter if they are staying at the Hampton Inn or not, some of you will not be staying there but this is for you too and we encourage your attendance in order for you to be greeted by our sponsorship/committee members and a chance to get to know one another. I will need an rsvp on this if you will, soon.

BOK is the code word to get your room at a discounted price: $89. + tax for a double bed room, this price holds for author and spouse. For two authors sharing the same room they require $10 more.

Free Valet service will be available to help unload to your tables when you arrive also to break down and remove your books when the festival is over. We ask that you please respect our festival and not leave until the time it is over at 5 p.m.

Five very large cash essay contest prizes will be awarded at 4 p.m.
Three Best Author Display prizes will be awarded after the essay contest awards.
Decorate your tables to promote your books, the best display will receive a prize.

A Free Continental Breakfast will be provided at set up time from 7:30 until 9 a.m.

A fundraiser lunch will be in place for authors and festival goers to purchase during the noon hour.
